I'm looking at the option of buying ( about upto £2500 to spend) a Vitara diesel or a Terrano diesel lwb, but the biggest thing it will proably come down to is the economy as I've been running a Golf tdi for the past 4 years and 55mpg is quite nice, so what kind of mpg figures can I expect and what should I be looking out for?
-
Personally i'd go for the Vitara.
Easy to obtain parts too
I cant help you on the fuel figures.
:D
-
Of course it would have to be a Grand Vitara if I want a diesel, or can you get a swb model?
-
dont get a teranno, spares are expensive as hell & a pain to work on

I suppose that goes for the Maverick as well then?
-
yes
they are good when they are going but when they start to go wrong it will drive you nuts,Bits are seriously not cheap
-
So what mpg can I expect from a vitara then?
-
No Idea, but Can't you look into a Disco 300TDi? You can get them for well under £2500.
-
Terrano nice to drive but boy they are thirsty for a gutless motor.........go for a Disco............go on you know you want to........
-
LANDROVER everytime..... :D Cheep parts
-
Get a nice 300tdi :)
-
:(bigsmoke): SAY IT.....LANDROVER
-
My vitara, 1600 petrol gives about 25 mpg, but this can go down dramatically if you drive it like a boy racer :D
-
Other than a L.. L...Landrover..there I've said it now, what choice do I have? Diahatsu ?Shogun ? ? ? Don't forget I've got used to 55+mpg so it's got to be a diesel and not to thirsty.

I had a Brava 2.4td for four years ...its very closely related to the Frintera. I never had a problem with it, it towend caravanettes out ouf muddy feilds and I never got stuck in it. I was getting about 28mpg out of it. My brother in law now has it, its on a v plate and all its ever had is a cam belt and full service once a year. Good motor.
