On first reflection about the idea, I doubt it, as there's a lot of bodywork issues to solve.

If anyone has though, at a guess, it'll probably be someone like Foley Specialist Vehicles (http://www.foleyspecialistvehicles.co.uk/)

Rangys had that done quite a bit, for fire tenders, I know I've seen at least one somewhere but not sure where

Yeah Ive seen a couple of Rangies in that configuration.  When I collected the caravan from muddyboots there was a 6 wheeled rangie outside a lidl near to him, we stopped for some stuff to make up sandwiches for our lunch, but didnt have my camera.

If it can be done to a Rangie Im sure its possible to do it to a Disco without too much hassle.  :?

Theres was a 6x6 Disco around here, but it was a ex-range rover fire tender with a disco body on it. So there might be others.

Would be nice to find...........the disco uses the range rover chassis or at least it did so anything is possible  :D

What sort of cost would be involved to convert a vechile into one?  Anyone ever asked that question before ? :)

Not sure......you would need to find a rear half of a disco........and chop and weld it on........i would do it myself as a project so the cost would be low but time high...........you could buy a scraped disco for £500 and have everything you need.

I think I would prefer to have the chassis professionally extended first, then tackel the rest myself.

Could you still tow the caravan ?  :?

The chassis would be easy if you know what to weld were (if you know what i mean)......and i dont see why you carnt tow anything with it.

All I know about it is the man who use to own it sold it to his son. Who sold it to his friend and the first owner is trying to buy it back.

I have a mate who has an original 6x6 range rover. His has been in magazines and books all over the place but that was before he bought it. He takes it to Billing each year (well tries) and he has had so much trouble with the vm engine. I think he is into his3rd or 4th now as head gaskets go etc. When he gets it finally finished ie engine in and all tarted up it will be brilliant.

It was a land rover built rangie as well not a custom home build job.

My mate used to have 2 six wheel range rovers...both ex-Carmichael chassis, but with extended 4 door bodywork. They were terrible to drive on the road...always wanted to go in a straight line, and the middle set of tyres would wear out in a matter of weeks...looked really great though

Only one answer to that ;)  6x6 with front and rear axle on steering duty :)  That should eliminate much of the tyre scrubbing :)
