Title: big wheels on your spare wheel carrier

i have worked out how to fit a 36"wheel with tyre onto a standard disco spare wheel carrier on the back door.

with no welding or mods!!

Bolt it onto a roof rack?

I remember there being a device which fastens on to the carrier and has a set of raised studs on it to mount the wheel higher up. No idea where I saw it though

turn it round, back to front?

put wheel nuts on the studs to act as collars?

That's what I did.  :D

I managed to enlarge the holes on the OE carrier enough to get my 33" tyre on but I think there is space to re-drill the holes to allow the carrier to sit further up the door.  :wink:
