I was idly looking through my road atlas last night whilst trying to find somewhere & glimpsed at the Welsh pages
Don't the Welsh give their towns & villages some apt names? Someone way back when had a premonition :lol:
For example;
Llandovery (http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=276000.841431962&Y=235000.978764983&width=500&height=300&gride=276388.841431962&gridn=234682.978764983&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=llandovery&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=&zm=0&scale=25000&right.x=7&right.y=100)
Llandre (http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=265000.583385656&Y=241000.715699332&width=500&height=300&gride=266960.583385656&gridn=242014.715699332&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=25000&upright.x=62&upright.y=3)
Llandyfnan (http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=250000.471695317&Y=380000.188468516&width=500&height=300&gride=250176.471695317&gridn=378627.188468516&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=25000&down.x=187&down.y=6)
And eleswhere;
Rangemore (http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=418000.517138025&Y=322000.564452296&width=500&height=300&gride=417901.517138025&gridn=322924.564452296&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=25000&up.x=192&up.y=0) (Staffordshire)
Rangeworthy (http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=370000.449786255&Y=185000.192473752&width=500&height=300&gride=368889.449786255&gridn=186155.192473752&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=25000&up.x=190&up.y=8) (South Gloucestershire)
Freeland (http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?client=public&X=440000.879837007&Y=213000.067786878&width=500&height=300&gride=441583.879837007&gridn=212711.067786878&srec=0&coordsys=gb&db=freegaz&addr1=&addr2=&addr3=&pc=&advanced=&local=&localinfosel=&kw=&inmap=&table=&ovtype=&keepicon=true&zm=0&scale=25000&right.x=3&right.y=97) (Oxfordshire)
But this sleepy little hamlet (http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=13853) looks like a place to bed down for the night

Somewhat alarmingly, I know someone who pronounces Llandovery as 'Landrovery'.
I think he's in too deep.

One of the places i work at is on Llandrovery road (actually Llandovery).
I can no longer write or remember it as anything other than 'llandrovery'! :D
