Title: 265/75/16 on a 7j 16 wheel
Post by: bambamjj on February 08, 2006, 17:42:15
Has anyone fitted a 265/75/16 tyre on a Freestyle alloy wheel code 7J 16

Being told it cannot be done needs to be a 8 or 8.5J

Always thought this was a popular fit?

I cant see why a seven inch width should cause any problems at all.

I've got 265/75x16 BFG's with a 2" lift. the only place they catch is the rear of the rear wheel arch. You can either move out the bracket that bolts the wing to the frame, or trim off the bottom of the wheel arch. take it back about 1.5 or 2" at the bottom, and taper the cut up to the lower swage line.

both are std landrover fitment alloys and both are 7jx16
