You might get away with it mate but if you do it will limit your articulation, normal SJ shocks don't open very much.

You could always go to the scrappy and pick up some cavalier or astra pin to eye shocks for the front and some series 3 swb rear shocks for the rear or astra or caviler eye to eye for the rear but then you will need longer break lines.  I've never tried these but have been told that they work.

Have you seen this site http://www.rhinocentral.co.uk/  ,I use his shocks and relocating bar

Yes, get longer brake lines. If you keep the stock shox, you will have probably no downwards travel(droop)

Ideally you need to cut off the top shock mount and fit one thats higher, then you can use a longer shock, gain more travel, and it'll still be able to compress.

i had some 3" shackles on my sj for a little while, without extending the brakepipes or getting longer shocks and had no problems. just jack the axels and have a look to make sure you are not stretching the brake lines before you take it out anywhere. To be honest they were quite crap, and i got a spring over axle which is far better.

have fun, you should not have any trouble fitting them, but id get a friend to help as you need 3 hands for some of it!

I just happen to have a set of sj pro comp shocks suitable for 3" shackle lift. There brand new , never fitted. I bought them last year but ended up doing a SOA. If you're interested make me an offer, otherwise there on E bay next week!

if you keep your old shox then the brake lines will be fine bit if you change them then change the brake lines as well.

i used astra mk2 rear shocks on my sj and they worked fine, they are cheap as well Flatpack are your new shackles 6" long giving you 3" of lift.
you will suffer from bumpsteer with shackles that long
