Looks like an R44. Lucky it wasn't a jet turbine, then that would have been loud :D

You may be lucky and he was just visiting friends on a one off.

A few years ago a military 'copter was forced to land in a field next to the main road about 6 miles away from here.

Within the hour one of the local 'comedians' had placed a sign on the grass verge.

For sale
engine needs attention

There was something on the radio about this yesterday, must admit I was only half listening. Bloke on Jeremy Vine's tabloid radio show talking about nuicance neighbours.

Helicopter landing about 20 ft from someones garden fence. You can land on agricultural land up to 28? days a year with landowner's permission. If the helicopter owner also owns the land, he can do what he likes.

Local Authority/CAA/Police were all useless, blaming each other

Not quite, they have a reduce radar return, so the signal will get lost in the general radar clutter. With a good radar and operator they can be found.
Rapier, the surface to air missle system employed by the military finds them everytime and gets a missle lock. So there not that good!

I use to live with 4 fighter jet squadrons about 200 metres away, thats noisy!
