Title: BIG Fuel Hose
Post by: Evilgoat on February 12, 2006, 21:12:45
Any suggestions where to find Fuel hose to fix my filler? Sprays fuel everywhere when I fill up and it seriously needs tackiling, cept no-one has any. Looks same diameter as the top hose in the engine bay but not even going to think about trying that :) Probobly about 1 1/2" bore. Tried all the usual places today but no-go :(

I'd say genuine part then assuming it's shaped and possibly even has odd sized ends if it's owt like my Landies, and in my case if It's a new Landy you will need to order it but if it's an old one it'll be on the shelf....go figure!  :)

Worth trying the main dealer, some of their parts are quite competitive price wise, considering the hassle of finding the equiv part

Gonn call Newmans Suzuki in a bit. Then look at a quick fix to keep me roadworthy. Thinking splitting a 2" length of rad hose, putting it over the split (less than 1/4" long) and jubilee clips over the lot will stop it from leaking untill the new one comes in.

There is some repair tape around nowadays that can do the job, not sure what its called though

I think if its that rotten then its safer all round to fix it properly. Bit nervous around fuel, too many loud bangs involving it and nearly being topped by a spark plug have taught me to respect it.

Doesnt taste too good either.
