Title: wheel cover question
Post by: denviks on February 13, 2006, 23:28:05
hi all. i have a bit of a strange question. i am looking for a hardflex wheel cover that i can apply a graphic to. the one i have at the moment has a sticky out land rover bit which stops me using it.

the tyres and wheels im running are 225/70/16. would a land rover defender cover fit these wheels?

just want something cheap but solid to put my graphic on....any ideas would be great.....cheers :D

You can get the standard soft ones for most size tyres, I glued a hardboard circle inside the thing and then stuck the graphic on that on the outside

The one I did is round a 235/70x16, dunno how that compares to what you have, but I think there was a bigger one, they go by the diameter of the wheel/tyre complete

I have one here that already has a graphic on it but I guess it will come off. It is hard on the graphic bit but soft round the bit that goes round the tyre. Is this the type you mean.

It is doing nothing here so you could make me an offer, wouldnt want much, just trying to clear things out

I will be interested to see how you do the graphic as I have a hard flex cover that I want to put a graphic onto as well. I want to put the logo in the top left corner of this page http://www.wrg.org.uk/ and then the web site address. All on a red back ground with white letters.

How were you thinking of doing it? My thoughts are getting red and white sticky back plastic but how easy it will be to cut all the writing out I have no idea.

I don't like advertising the dealer, so I scraped it all off with a pen-knife.
I need to get some kind of product to seal it now

Or I might just try & get a large 'White Rose' decal, as seen in my signature block

The mud club splat logo is a solid circle, hides a multitude of rubbish and dealers logos
