I keep meaning to mention it and have remembered this time.............
For those who live not too far from the countryside, it's worth making a visit to your local farmer suppliers. The one's around our way sell car batteries, oils, towbars, tow ropes, strops, in car stereo's, tools, welders, weders supplies, jacks, nuts, bolts, washers, etc, etc. All at decent prices.
Farmers won't buy rubbish and they won't pay over the odd's for stuff. I've already saved loads by buying from them instead of the likes of Halfords, and it's much more fun if you know you're getting something cheap.
-
no what you mean, i go to one in Malton, just like an old colonial store you can even get a hair cut there.
-
That'll be Yates then. :D
I think the only thing you CAN'T buy there is food (for people, plenty of animal food).
-
thats right , love it there, will have to pay it a visit again soon, oh by the way ive got rid of the roof rack now , and got a gew9000 winch, ready to fit as soon as i pick up the bumper, so it looks a little different now , hows the meet coming on ?

I think you must be talking small holdings-not real farms, the farms inthis area average 6-7,000 acres and not a Hi-lux in sight, real farmers use Landys + Rangies for the wife, if you live in the south -look out for
SCATS = southern counties agri supplies,

CCF in west wales

Head for the Railway station. You can't miss Yates.
They have a web site at http://www.yatesonline.com/
Look at the photos in the "Museum" section. The shop looks exactly the same now as when it opened in 1845!!!

There used to be a 'WCF' on the A642 between Wakefield & Stanley. I used to pass it every day going to, or from, work.
It had some good bargains in.
As usual the land was sold for housing
I was never too sure if 'WCF' was
Wakefield County Farming
West Country Farming
Westmoreland County Farming

CWG at Newark or Worksop have most things. If you don't fancy travelling that far try B&B Tractors at Warsop - last time I looked they were also selling the Santana Landy look alikes.
