i recently purchased the above , it has a NIKKI carb fitted and it runs awful.
i have managed to get the original back with air box and pipes.
could somebody help me with some picture or photos of where all the pipes go . lots of photos with air box removed would be fantastic.
many thanks.

you would probably be better off working through the problems with the Nikki carb, it is much much better than the old original one.
I have some details on setting the Nikki up somewhere, let me know if you want me to try and get them to you
I wont advise on the original carb cos I reckon your wasting yer time ;)

my probs are,
when its cold even on full choke it stalls at junctions/lights etc.
runs on when switched off for about 30 seconds.
car stinks of petrol.
only doing about 15 miles per gallon.
when its warm it doesnt stall , but it does run on.
i never done the swap , so i dont know what the previous owner did.
is there some more pipes to block off , some are still connected to the wiring loom. i have tried to do timing with a timing light it aint bad.
many thanks.
loz roberts.
p.s. sold my sj 410 bought the vitara 1.6jlx 1993 instead.
needs lifting and bigger tyres but want to get it to run first.

Sounds like you might have timin/fouling issues there too. Wouldnt hurt to check your timing and the state of the plugs.
Its possible you are developing hotspots as a result of overfuleing/underfueling which may well actually be the plugs and as a result might have killed them.
I can get you a pic of the carb on Rabbit if you want.

a picture would be great.
cheers.

Sorry i totally forgot about the pics, will now need to scrape the mud off it first :D
Sounds like you are funning hideously rich, certainly worth reducing the richness a bit, Assuming the card as mixture adjustments wind it in a little.
Possible your plugs are going to need cleaning/replacing after running that rich, they'll be black.
Do a search on google and look through these threads, there is a guide someplace I'm sure of it.
