Title: Brake Pads
Post by: Jonny Boaterboy on February 14, 2006, 20:39:33
Which brake pads do you think i should get? Do you think the EBC Greens are worth the extra money or should i just stick with standard land rover replacement

Thanks

Personally i wouldnt waste the extra money on the EBC pads. I used to run them on my motorbike but that would do 150 mph. I have just relined the brakes on my RRC using standard pads and to be honest it now has better brakes than my disco, really good  infact better than i had hoped but they were overhauled completely, might be worth going down that route.

Nowt much wrong with standard genuine pads, but it really depends on how hard you drive the car.  I've got std pads on my road car, but EBC Greenstuff on the front of the racer (with std rears) and they are fantastic!

I honestly struggle to tell the difference.  I think EBC stay good when hot though, but at a price.  If your disks are screwed then nowt will work, pads get no purchase on a rusty surface, spend your cash on disks.

That was entirely my point when i mentioned the 150 mph motorcycle. They work once warmed and continue to work without fade, but most L/R's are not travelling at excessive speeds continually.
