Title: Best Range Rover in the world?
Post by: Bush Tucker Man on July 29, 2003, 23:54:26
There is an independant specialist in Huddersfield (Huddersfield Land Rover Centre) and they have chassis #1.
Actual number; 355-00001)

It's the vehicle used on the cover of the James Taylor book 'Original Range Rover' and also features heavily within.
Also a featured vehicle in the Dec '94 edition of 'LRO'

It's quite possibly the best in existance, admittedly restored but superbly done.
Even in Dec '94 it had a quoted insurance value of £100,000.

I know the one in the BMIHT museum (at Gaydon) is an early example as well, but it's not even painted in a Rovercolour (or wasn't)

It's well worth a look at, if you happen to be in the area.

Last time I was in the 'HLRC', they also had one of the Honourable Artillary Company ceremonial Light-Weights in the show-room as well.
