Title: T MAX winches
Post by: rollazuki on February 17, 2006, 08:54:52
Anyone used, got experience with, or know a good supplier for TMAX winches from Australia?

Their current  spec look well made and powerfull, 6.6 hp motor, but any experiences would be good.

Any other recommended winches also appreciated.

Looking at their website, it seems that Rebel have stopped doing them.  They only do Warn and Superwinch now.

As stated mine is a T-Max, you're more than welcome to have nosey next time you're about. The first time I took mine swimming, it got lots of gunk into the motor, (But as you know my idea of swimming isn't what most people do   ) When I cleaned it out, and rebuilt it, it went back together with Silicone Sealant, and has been fine since. I have spoken to someone that suggests that the newer ones are better waterproofed.

Just to take a sideways look at the subject, one thing to maybe consider before parting with your hard-earned is service and spares.

I've heard of a number of cases where, for want of a part, the winch was lost. Okay, we don't expect these things to break, but when they do, is there sufficient back-up available to affect a timely and/or cost effective repair?

Just a question to ask your potential suppliers

cheers

At Paidia 4x4 we have a direct line back to the factory and hold stock of spares in the UK to provide a high level of support.

Spares can usually be turned around next day.
