Title: Door lock springs.
Post by: Sheddy on February 19, 2006, 15:25:46
Yesterday was patch the wheelarch day.  Quite an easy job compered to the boot floor.  I went to my local breakers and asked him if he had a really old car that I couls remove a bit of panel from (took my buzz saw with me).  I wanted a really old car as they were made from thicker metal.

"Will a 1957 Hillman Minx do?"

I felt a bit guilty as I cut out a section of the rear quarter, but as needs must!  It made a lovely bit of plate and now the disco has a solid inner wheel arch again.

Today I have been replacing those little springs in the door latches that keep the door unlocked .... you know when they have gone as the only way to open the door is with the key turned to unlock and then open the door.  What a poopy job!  Getting the latch mechanism out is a laugh and a half!  Got the two front doors done and the rear door, just got the rear passenger doors to do.  But now it is raining and the temperature has dropped so I've packed in for the day.
