Title: Exhaust
Post by: Evilgoat on February 20, 2006, 10:15:57
Anyone tell me if they think this price is good.

Full system for a 1.6 Vit carb, no cat. Inc VAT and Delivery, no fitting £145 direct from Bosal (Manfacturers)

Also having mashed what was left of the old one I'm open to ideas to stop the new one getting mashed.

sounds reasonable to me.

you could put a skid plate over the pipe or re route it.

Yep thats cheep

I cut mine (well symbos) 2" after the centre joint and bent upwards closer to floor, welded a skid plate to the front of my middle sliencer and cut twice and rewelded higher over axle modifying hangers and rear mud catchers to suit (well cut them of with a grinder).

Both options I'm thinking of. I might weld a guard round the entire center box, that strikes me as the weakest point in the whole thing. Not had any issues yet with the tail assembly. I'm a little worried that that downpipe has no give and bolts onto the manifold, I'd feel happier with some flex there.

I'm going to see the guys at Powerflow that built the Audi's Exhaust tomorrow and discuss the feasability of a single silencer side exit system with the tip just on front of the passenger door. Obviously I need to watch the legality of this. Else I might get them to design a whole new system that rides a bit higher.

Theres also the possibility of bringing the tailpipe out through the bumper rather than under it. Will see whats said.
