Title: Hiclone kits?

Anyone got one of those hiclone kits on thier landy are they effective with power and mpg or are they just a gimmick, how easy are they to fit, it says 10-15 mins to fit on the paddock website but i reckon that jobs always take longer than planned or anyone says??????? it also says that one fits in front of the turbo is this easy, plus i don't want to be taking the turbo components off really unless it is a simple job.,

There is some physics involved, if you take warm air and spin it round real quick, the hotter air gets thrown to the outside of the tube, and the colder air goes down the middle. wether this partially separated stream of air makes any difference to power Ive no idea. Id be interested to see exactly how it works, and if any gains are possible.
My doubts are, that in this world where fuel efficiency and power are chased by manufacturers, and millions of yen spent on research, does a little vane thing stuck in the exhaust make any real difference?
Why dont manufacturers fit one?

Easy to fit and there is a tiny bit of gain but nothing to warrent the expense of buying them. Save your pennies for an intercooler

well all the 'real' reviews I've read show a decrease in power!  Assuming we are talking abotu the same spinny thing you put in your air pipes.

get an alisport intercooler you know you want to.
