Title: amazing service?
Post by: Sheddy on February 22, 2006, 21:18:57
I'll not name the company concerned.

Myself and a mate have both bought some kit from a well known supplier.  there have been various problems with the (seperate) orders but this latest one leaves me gobsmacked.

I gave him a hand fitting his bits and pieces along with which was a polyeurathane bush kit.  On a couple of the bushes he was less than stisfied with the fit of them, some were a bit too small, others a bit too big.  When mine were fitted (after his were done) they all fitted perfectly.  So my mate phoned the company concerned and questiuoned this.

It turns out that although they were supplied with the model, year and V.I.N. of the vehicle, they sent the wrong bush kit.  The next bit is the gobsmacking bit .... they told him to remove the bush kit and return it to them, then (and only then) would they send him the correct kit.

This would mean that his vehicle would be taken apart, bushes removed and then put back together without the bushes to enable it to be taken off of the vehicle lift.  Then when the replacement bush kit arrives he would have to take it apart again to fit the new bushes.

Funnily enough, he's not very happy.

That wouldn't be one of the companys listed in your signature then    for instance

I'd think your mate is well entitled to be a lot frustrated at that sort of approach given the cost and time implications for the customer.

RESULT!

The parts manager at the company concerned has had a look into this.

It turns out that the order was dispached based on the part number ordered .... and they had the wrong part number on thier web-site!  So he's sending my m8 a new set of bushes so he can take the wrong ones out and replace them with the right ones as he goes and then he can return the wrong ones at thier cost.

Nice for a company to admit when they're wrong.  Fair play.
