has anyone got this?

we currently have sky world and a digibox

wanna get the plus thing but the cost is a bit extreme

currently pay 40 quid or something thereabouts for the sky world

says on the sky site that its

200 quid to get

free install

but 20 quid a month for subscription!

so that pushed monthly telly watching to 60 quid..  well my response to that rhymed with chucking bell...

Get yourself a good ADSL, download lots of movies in DiVX format and away you go....

Or wait until the good films come on sky one or two :)

Hi Guys

I've got Sky plus, and pay £40 per month which includes the subscription to Sky Plus, and all the "normal" channels (full movie package and sports package). Admittidly, the box cost me £200, with a penny installation, but it's better than a video or dvd recorder as it automatically tapes fifth gear each week for me...

If you don't have a premium channel, then you have to pay £20 on top of the Sky subscription for the use of the record feature.

At least that was the deal when I got mine back in December.

Cheers

Ben

199 quid for the box and 50 quid install

couldnt be faffed with ordering online

cannot be bothered with a relocation of the digibox cos it costs more per month to have it

also you can download what you;ve programmed onto vhs (presume through scart or svideo cable.. ie onto cd!

Found this...

The picture's from http://www.skyplus.co.uk

If it doesn't read too well, it basically says that Sky Sports 1-3 and Sky Movies are the Premium Channels...

You beat me to it!!!

The download does indeed pass the info down a scart lead to somewhere...

My video's not connected to the Sky Box, so I'll be impressed if the download works!!!

Get a remote sensder unit - you can then at least watch Sky upstairs even though it's the same channel as downstairs. This (http://www.tesco.com/electrical/product.asp?8003850) is what I mean... Mine was either £20 or £30 from Toys R Us...

Cheers

or...

if the distance is not too great do what i have done in the past..

buy 10mtrs of svideo and a loong headphone cable and you're sorted

but previously ive had issues cos of cheap portable tv in bedroom resulting in converter back into scart which does work

also handy for output from dvd playback card in back of computer

back in the day when i had no dvd player

now i have 4

erm...

A second suscription is only about £12 a month plus installation if you've already got a second dodgybox.
