Title: Rear Rumble 110
Post by: Greenlanekit on February 27, 2006, 08:40:30
Dear All

THanks for comming to Sibbertoft those who did, comming back down the M1 on the over run there's a pretty heavy rumble in the back of my 110, would this be the diff on the way out ? I dont think propshafts rumble do they, my little nephew hopped in the back and it was right above the diff, any ideas?

Kit

Propshafts will rumble, so check that first.  Other than that it could be a sign of the pinion bearings starting to fail on the diff.

Get under there and have a good wiggle :-)

It's a 110 with a Salisbury diff it's unlikely to be the cause of the rumble

What makes you say that ?  I've known plenty of Salisbury diff bearings fail  :?

Its a ex MOD 110, either way knowing my luck it will be the most expensive thing to go.
