Title: Three cheers for my work mate!
Post by: Jake on March 02, 2006, 18:42:06
Well, maybe not
One of my 'buddys' drove into my car today in a luton van.
Not to serious but ugly enough
And to top it off i'm playing on Salisbury Plain on Sunday.
Even get the feeling the carpets are gonna get wet
Fortunetly, i'm not one to hold a grudge.
After all, its only a car.
He did'nt run over one of my kids or Kate.

That's bad Jake...

That looks like you electric door lock solenoid that's showing.
Without checking I can't be sure but they might be able to get in the motor via the "hole"

I have (in Buckingham) a new complete door waiting for me to collect.
Plus, i have a mate thats a car painter.
Looks like i'll be getting some money from work too.
(which might pay for a few goodies for the car)
Cloud, silver lining spring to mind.

I note you say 'work mate' not friend, otherwise I'd be saying "with friends like that who needs enemies?"

In addition to all the pennies compensation tell work it ruined you and your family's weekend and you need a week off (paid, in addition to you usual holidays) to compensate Kate and the Kids for the disappointment

After all having the car fixed won't fix their weekend.....

Welll you could try

That doesn't look like a van shaped dent..... what bit hit you?

As Karen said, fixing the car doesn't fix all the damage, claiming any extra from insurance would be nigh on impossible, but claiming from work....... might be worth a try

:)  :) My RTW tool kit consists of gaffer tape and WD40...strange that something like gaffer tape can have so many different names...egTank tape, rhino tape and gaffer tape to name just a few...I prefer to call it 'gaffer tape'...ramblings over...goodbye now :)  :)

   Billy no Mates

UPDATE
I spoke to the general manager tonight and he informed me that the car will be going through a body shop under the companys insurance.
No pay out then.
 :(
Oh well.
But, i am going to speak to the body shop and see if i supply a ready to fit but requires painting door, maybe they might fix the rot on the inside wheel arches.
Worth a try i feel.

I'll post pictures in a few weeks when its fixed.
 :D
