Just joined this morning after being talked into it by a near-neighbour who's a member

Hi, joined this a few years back, among other things, it makes  my insurance cheaper and gets me a discount from the AA,

Yeh, I'm (well Dad is) a member of the S3 club, have been for about 8 years (with a year or so out cos we forgot to rejoin!!).  The national rallies are great events, shame my degree finishes this year over the weeks surrounding it or I'd love to go.
