Bit boy rcerish but has any put a bonnet scoop on there Disco
I want to redirect air flow anyway from the behind headlight for the flow for engine/air filter?
will a cooler engine bay improve performance?
i know this effect works well on a ford focus i modified
Thinking about it to allow engine bay cooler and maybe direct air feed from that to air filter. Would like Snorkel for air feed but do not think i will ever go that extreme for off roading that i would need one.
Any comments would be aprreciated

Your air intake is inside the wing anyway, so having a scoop on the bonnet will make little difference on that front.

having a snokel is a bit like having a ram air, :D

My air filter is the old Cylinder type so it draws in air from just behind the headlight not from the wing.
When i used to race the Focus I drew air in from the front grill so it was not heated by the bay but also the scoop kept the air temp down in the bay, the difference was noticable then the adddition of a K & N filter fitted was even better.
But may have to go for Snorkel, just thought it would be different to go for an alternative as i do not at this stage think i will be going that extreme with wading, also i always find V8's tempermental even if you do try and water proof everything..................Mmmmmmm Diesel Disco

My 300 series with rectangular airbox is the same :)

Ive read in a few places that sucking it in the higher "cleaner" air has been know to give a little better economy. Its on my todo list for my Mpi even though I doubt that will be doing anything extreme with water!
Anyone know how good a Mpi is in water? :?
