Title: 200TDi Bumpers

Has anyone got any pictures of the cut down bumpers, i.e. missing the lower valance as i am just about to attempt mine but i dont know where to start, also just need to see the corner bits as obviously i dont know where to cut them either!

I need to get this done by the latest tomorrow :D

unfasten the lower valance,its on fiddly screws underneath,i think theres about 6 and then draw a line with a felt pen in line with the bottom of the bumper and cut it off either with a grinder or a saw

It the back of my 90 for the tip trip tomorrow is two ready cut bumper ends and a bumper...

Yours if you want em (or anyone elses).... you must come and collect by the weekend though...

cut mine ages ago just before you said you had some trimmed down ones :(

Did you trim them in the end Dan?

I used a stanley knife for mine and followed the bit where the bumper cap steps down slightly. Mine is a 300tdi though.

Are you are able to leave the middle section in place containing the No. plate... You probably are just wanted to check. Then off to buy a good stanley knife.

yes you if you put your head under the front end, that number plate mount is only held on with two small screws.

You'll need more than a stanley knife tho, its quite tuff and thick plastic.  I nice little hacksaw would do the job better.  I used a coping saw with a wood blade to do mind, the coping saw allowed it to follow the contour better and reached the middle from both ends of the end caps.

a brand new stanley knife blade and a ruler to score the line lightly for the first time and then after that the blade follows that line. I managed to do both end caps with 1 blade. The blade was very blunt though by the end of it.

It left a wonderful smooth edge too once cut.

Yes you can leave the plastic bit in place for the number plate. I broke a screw mount though when I did mine and so drilled 2 holes in the botom of it and into the bumper and put 2 screws in it. also means it is quick to remove if I need the high lift jack points on my steering guard and dont need to get muddy underneath. I dont have a high lift jack so wont be very often I need to take it off.
