I hate the way England never celebrates St George's day.  The Irish seem to take over every town and pub in England come St Patrick's day, yet we do nothing.  More celebrations for St George!

As St. George's Day was my Dad's birthday and he always wore a red roses on that day, I've voted yes in respect of both great men.

ask your local landlord about opening times on st georges day...no extension because its not a recognised holiday, then ask about st patricks day..
Think we are being taken somewhere smelly without a directional device...;)

Definitely

The miserable gits at our local council (Dudley) wouldn't even let the scouts have 'church parade' for St Georges last year, then they relented but made them have the parade the weekend before....  d'oh.

That site comes out every year for people to sign, i can remember for at least 3 years now where it has.  If the government wanted it to be a holiday they would have by now instead of just ignoring the masses.

its down to racism, for some ridiculous and stupid reason, the flag of st george is a symbol of violence/race hate. apparently moves are afoot to make it unlawful to wear a badge with the st georges flag!!

now if that isnt descriminating against the english on their own turf then i will walk nekid through the local mosque with a swastika drawn on my ass singing "the white man marches on"

a topic which i feel i could easily upset/cause conflict on.. (freedom of speach!??! - boe locks!)

its a sh1tter when you arent even allowed to show any form of national pride in the homeland for fear of "upsetting" foreigners!

...when in rome, do as the romans!

i vote for a holiday.

but i feel soon "England" will be "Everyonesland" :(
