Post by: Evilgoat on March 09, 2006, 09:47:48
Rbbit has started popping out of gear. Aparently this happends when breaking or slowijng down, any suggestions?

Is this really going to be a gearbox overhaul ?

Starting to think this car wasnt such a good buy :(

No lift at all.

Might have that off you if I find theres really a problem and its not something daft. 5 speed off of a 1.6 yes?

Over 90K so possibly. Oddly enough no sign of this at all when she was offroad a few weeks back.

I'll see what she is like tonight and if needs must I'll have that box off you Suzota.

And if the box/engine is comming out I might treat her to some top-end TLC and cambelt.

If I had the space/time I'd consider a full overhaul and get her back to 0 miles.

Drop the gearbox oil and see what drops out with the oil

Looks like it may have been something simple. Like not being put fully in gear in the first place because the mat had rucked up behind the pedal.

Will look a little more closely this weekend as the Snorke and some pads are going on, POSSIBLY I migth attempt the rust repair round the windscreen,

phew. but oh poo, as some money might have been nice.

watch out with tackling the rust, might end up with a bigger hole than you started with. lol
