Camaro SS...................not saying it's the ultimate, but it is a fine piece of heavy metal. 8)

There's always the 6.6 Trans am as per Smoky and the Bandit.... :D

Well BTM put me up to it so...........
That's right blame me
Just for starters
1969 Dodge Cherger is probably the best-known Muscle-car, for the 'Dukes' (TV & all 3 films), plusit was also the assassins car in 'Bullitt'
1970 Challenger 'Hemi' awesome machine
1969 Plymouth GTX in sheer 'brutal aggression' terms
Cobra 427 (for a long time the quickest accelerating production car in the world)
1968 Ford Mustang GT390. Frank Bullitts' wheels, a bit too pretty though, but still ighly desirable. Fitted with a NASAR engine for filming
Plymouth Superbird. 200MPH from Detroit with a 'push-rod' V8
Later (80's) possibilities include BuickGrand National
-
Umm Chevrolet Corvette?
and totally left field Lancia Stratos :D
-
Plymouth GTX...

Challenger Hemi....
Gotta agree about the Challenger. 8)
-
My old man has just finished rebuilding a 6.6 Trans am and I must admit it does sound a go great, but I can't see it being much use in the mud :D
-
Dunno if it counts as a muscle car but a friend of mine has a '67 chevrolet caprice sport, 5.7 V8 Hemi, sounded beautiful :D
sorry, no pics.
-
Pontiac GTO, couldn't find a better piccy, sorry.

I personally wou'dn.t swap my TJ for any of the muscle cars we've been on about....Its a Jeep thing
-
Just got in from work & there's some nice motors on here now, love that orange Challenger
why when people are looking muscle cars do that imediatly go for the american ones???
Because that's essentially where the expression came from & therefore the archetypal 'Muscle-Cars' are American
There's one major rule for a 'Muscle Car'; a stonking V8 :D
Okay, here's the British contingent
Aston-Martins (all the V8 models)
TVR 450SEAC, Chimera 450, Griffith 500, Cerbera 4.5 (discount the Sagaris & Tuscan as they're 6-cylinders)
Jenson Interceptor (FF is cool)
Bentley Arnage & Continental T
From the Antipodes;
Holden Commodore & Monaro
South Africa;
Ford Pirahna ( 5.0 V8 Capri)
-
mmm V8 Capri's n Holden Monaros :D
Still stick to my straight 6 tho :D
-
Yeah the ozzys get the good engines and we get 2.8s and 3.0 ??
I reckon a senetor with a 5.7 V8 would do ! 8)
That MG thing is a bit TT ish with a bigger lump. Would make a good jelly mould though. Muscle cars need to have a soul to count. A soul comes from within. Engine note, chassis flex,
-
Yank, gotta be the charger or gt500.
British, Interceptor(dad's got a mk1) :D
Lee
-

A Holden Commodore its exactly that
This (http://www.holden.co.nz/vehicle/commodore/sv8/) is the curent model, older ones were the 'spitting' of a Senator
Muscle cars need to have a soul to count. A soul comes from within. Engine note
You said it!!
-
Modern day Corvette or Mustang GT or Overfinch Rangieor Monaro 8)
Classic Shelby Mustang or Dodge Charger
-
Or maybe the Dodge Viper V10 monster 8 litres!!
-
Here's a couple more.........
'68 Dart.
'73 Trans Am
(http://image42.webshots.com/43/9/69/75/378796975uqgkCM_ph.jpg)
'68 GTO
-
Or maybe the Dodge Viper V10 monster 8 litres!!
8.3 in the new ones :D
All going through the back end with no TC ,now thats a motor. The Ram with that Engine in cool an'all.
-
Was a guy a few years ago who had a collection round this area including a GT500, a Superbird, a true Chevy Stingray both convertable and hardtop and a real 7.2ltr Cobra to name just a few. His son took me out in the GT500 , talk about axle tramp but boy did it sound awesome and when it did stop tramping it was pretty quick.
Steve.
-
AMERICAN MUSCLE!!! AWESOME!! LOVE IT!!!
How about a British one then???
A car I used to own, MINI PICK-UP!
-

Looks TINY next to a Hilux and Vitara!!!
-

Not strictly muscle cars but all the same.....
'66 AC/Ford 427 Cobra
Are you kidding??
No-one could discount a 427 Cobra.
Admittedly it's not a saloon/coupe bosy style, but 7litres 'stuffed into a pint-pot' is a sure fire winner.
And as for the acceleration (0-100 in 8.8seconds, & probably less in a tuind version) & that wonderful noise :(biglove):
Not quite as pretty as the 289 though, which in itself is a giant-killer
-
it got to be the 1969 dodge charger

With you all the way. Just mean to say, they're sports cars really, not muscle cars.
Anything with a 427ci V8 that's the size of an MGB gets my vote. 8)
................but the Original Daytona Coupe.......if i had all the money in the world......
-
69 mustang an its not girly!!!
-
it got to be the 1969 dodge charger
Is that the 'Furious' Charger???
-
no the furious charger had a differnt blower i'll look it up but thats not it just a look a likey.
-

Plymouth GTO roadrunner, an American musclecar magazine described it as "the sort of car that can go through a set of tyres in an evening".
My choice.
