Title: Help with series 2a gearbox

Hi All,

I am still restoring my 1966 series 2a and at last got the engine running just fine, But there is a clucking noise coming from the gearbox, With the landy out of gear, but when you put your foot on the clutch it stops.

anyone got any ideas

Or bird flu, sorry could resist it :lol:

No as said about, but also with the clutch depressed it releases the drive to the box, so as a worse case it could be in the box too

what sort of clunk ? if more of a rattle will be input bearing, top hat (old style of clutch release bearing)  and the bronze fly wheel bush breaking down.
 not sure how you can get a clunk as such? without changing gear :roll:
 worth draining oil out first to see if any metal parts !
