Hi,
Just after a bit of advice I'm rebuilding a series III 88" and need to replace all the door seals.
I have a roll of rubber seal thats the correct type however the seal that I binned (completely rotten) had a metal strip inside/on the back. The new stuff doesn't.
I guess just riviting the seal on even with washers isn't really going to do the job, where can I get a sutible metal strip? or equivilent, I suppose plastic would do.
Any ideas?
Function of a seal - turns fish into [PooPoo].

i am in the same boat
just bought the new strip of rubber, but metal strip is in the bin.
i will keep my eyes open for anything that will do the job, and let you know.

My series landies have defender door seals on them. You have to grind part of the lip off to make them fit but they are a lot cheaper than series ones and i think that they do a better job.

Metro seals will fit by all accounts

Door seals on a series
You'll be wanting aircon and airbags next

You can fit door seals but make them work is a different thing
  good luck

I used silicone sealant on my new seals with no metal strip inside - not fallen off yet

Some distributors who deliver big boxes usualy have a metal band around the crates if you have anything like this arround you just go and ask. They cut them off and throw them away. You will have to drill it tho....
