Panhard rod bushes?
Stand next to the steering wheel and move from left to right, see if the body moves but not the front wheel
-
ill do it in the morning now, but no worries if it is that cos am fitting polybushes  wel fitted most of them when changed the arms but cuddnt be arsed to do the panhard bushes so left them, but i cant see it being them, but anything is possable, hey its a land rover lol :P

If yours is anything like mine the lower(axle)bolt will be seized !
I cut either side and then welded a bolt to it. The heat melted old bush so easy then. Just a small cut ans out she came !
Just pricing taps and dyes to cut threads on panhard rod to fit adjuster !!!
Not cheap !
Cant help with steering issue, Sorry !
-
no the bolts wont be siezed on mine, copper slip works a treat   always thinking ahead  things that i am at some point going to need to change i undo replace if nescisary and coat with copperslip , been speaking to leadboots and gud old mike seems to think it might be difflock engaged and not come back out, :( i did give it a bit of grief to day i wunder if its stuck in :? bt shhh i didnt tell mikey that :P
-
make sure the difflock aint stuck in
-
It's not the U/J's on the steering arm from the steering box up to the bulkhead?
I know these can feel notchy if they dry out but maybe worth a look & a soaking in light oil.
-
it's not something as silly as the power steering belt being loose or slipping is it ?
not having woken up yet I don't know if you have a serpentine front end, or the elastic band method...
-
elastic band method  lol, wel give the ball joints a good old bashing with ye old gentle persuasion impliment......and free'd up a little bit, but when i turn the wheel the body moves  and there is play in the panhrod bushes when the wheel is turned, so can that be the other problem ?
-
It won't be helping.
Time for new bushes me thinks, then see what else could be causing the steering problms, if there is any after the bushes are changed.
-
well i have got the bushes alredy.... dynamic orange  got a 25tonne press at work and oxycetyline bottles so got that sorted....if not out comes the hammer lol, but i cant see what else can be causing it  and no mikey the difflock aint stuck in :P thank god  .
land rovers...cant live with them, cant live without !
