Title: Rot, terminal??

Both front footwells have always leaked on Laila.
I'm currently removing some excess wiring, and to my dismay found this small hole on the passenger side, and some obvious TLC required before it gets any worse.
I've no idea where to start to be honest, I could probably weld it myself, but need some advice on what parts/panels to buy, and what else I should be looking for? Will this be a whole lot worse when I remove the fixings? :(bigoops):

thats nothing,id just plate it & get on with it,

doing a 90 just now that started off as both bulkhead corners F**** then it moved onto the inside & them after removing the heater box & front wings discovers it was scrap,

by the looks of that, clean it up carefully with a linishing disc on a grinder and slap a coat of hammerite over it.

dont look that bad to me!

OK, so I over reacted a 'little', but it is holed, and if I plate over the top of it, how do I stop it rusting from the inside?
