Title: Chequer Plate
Post by: Singlefin on March 27, 2006, 16:45:54
Is there anywhere online (or in Mid Wales) to get sheets of chequer plate from? I'm after knocking up a couple of door cards...

Cheers!

i think the moral of the storey is dont buy it from the landrover place, buy it from the steel stockholder or a small company who uses a lot of it.
(8x4 cost me £75) didnt think that was bad.

Hi Singlefin
I got all my chequer plate from the peeps that hobbit has found
great stuff ,comes pre-drilled and with rivets.
saves you cutting it your self from a sheet of 8x4. :P

ok you could get 2 sheets of 8x4
1) to mess up drilling holes and cutting wonkey lines :?
2) to get it nearly right. :(
and then go and get the ready done stuff.. :P  :P  :D  :P .

I have a local scrappy near me who often has big bits in. I got 4 8x4 sheets for £90 !
I often get smaller bits for a couple of quid. Once they get to know you you get a better price !
