On returning from mothers on sunday a large bag and rattels came from underneath , at first thought it was gear box , but on stripping the prop off and the half shafts ( both with no damage ) the diff was removed then all the bits removed from the bottom . the question is whats come out is a 24 spline , i have a set of half shafts and a diff thats 11 spline can i fit them onto the rear axel that had 24 spline in ?

11 spline, you mean the big square things, they're 10 spline and as people often like to swap 10 with 24 then I'd say yes, I know the drive flange is the same PCD and the axles the same length. One thing you need to check is the later ABS type axles had the outer oil seal dleted in place of an oil seal on the half-shaft to keep the splined drive to the drive memebr oil-free. If your halfshafts have a smooth section near the oiute end then check your replacements do also.

sorry ment 10 just could not see them to well in the dark , mine has not got abs on so all should be ok , thanks

I don't know what the 24 spline back end had though but you'll see soon enough when it comes apart.

From memory...........24spline half shafts dont fit onto 10spline hubs.........and vise versa but the axle cassing is the same.

Let us know if you try it Simon.
I have a 10 spline truetrac locking diff and halfshafts I want to put in mine and it's running 24 spline diffs at the moment.
Watching with interest.

will do going to give it a try today ?

How did you get on ?

not to good
it will all fit together except that the holes in the half shafts where it bolts to the hub are a smaller (10 spline ) in diameter than the ones on the 24 spline , so not done anything as i have picked a diff up , but it looks like it would work
