Title: water pump

im trying to fit a new water pump, but its impossible to remove the old bolts ive undone3 but the others must be welded on :evil:  ive been spraying wd40 used an hammer, rounded 2 bolts off scraped skin off knuckles , its easier to just keep topping   the water up :(

i  think some go into the engine casing so if you snap them you have to take the timing cover off :evil:

This is one of those jobs that if they snap you have to deal with it...........carnt run without it  :wink:

Couple of methods

Try tightening slightly to see if the thread cracks off, then back and forth a bit at a time until it loosens off

Put some pressure on the bolt head with a spanner and then tap the end of the bolt with a hammer, the shock may release, then back and forward as above

Apply some heat to the bolt head, blow torch, etc, but remember ally will melt faster than the steel :wink:

have you still not done this little job yet  :lol:   i can nip over if you want on1 night if you need a hand, only live by port vale so only up the d road  :wink:

I had the same problem, Then i got the mole grips out.
