I bought some for my rear plate, they were green. Used 4 (one in each corner) about 4 years ago. Come to remove the plate at Christmas to fit a ladder, and the plate broke before the pads gave in!
Screwed the plate back on though, just to be sure.

I used sticky pads on my number plate and needed to get it off to fit a ladder ... just managed without breaking the plate
-
before you put the sticky pads on, wipe the area with methylated spirit. That'll do it!
-
Mine is half falling off at the moment ;) Trying to make it last out till I get a rear ladder on there before attacking it properly ;)
