Are 110 axles any different to a 90? can i put a pair of 110 axles straight onto a 90? I have just purchased a 110 which i would like to use as a donor vehicle to my 90 project. I would like to transfer, engine, axles, gearbox and all running gear! is this possible???

Front axle:
In a fitment sense... no....
Internally.... slightly....
And they have bigger brake calipers as standard.
Will bolt straight on without any problems....
Rear axle:
Can also be made to fit.... but is a bit more involved - and you need a custom propshaft.
What engine and box are in the 110??...

oh dear, the rear one sounds bad!!! is it complicated??? I suppose a local engineering firm could make me a custom prop shaft?

The engine is the 2.5 non turbo powerless thing! the gearbox... im not sure until i get it home tomorrow and start stripping it down.
-
Not that bad...
Need to fit 90" spring seats to the rear axle (bolt on).. and then it'll fit.
110's have a larger diameter rear spring compared to a 90".
The more difficult part is the propshaft. Salisbury axles were never fitted to 90's so you can't get a propshaft off the shelf... but easy enough to get one modified.
The Salisbury is much stronger than a standard 90 axle, but does hang a bit lower. Is it a disc braked one, or drum braked???
If disc, they fetch decent money, so you could sell it on, and get a very good 90 (or Disco or RR) one instead - means everythings standard.
What engine and box are you fitting??
I may have a suitable propshaft!!!
Do you need any other bits??? - plug for my add in the for sale section

Just saw you other post... isn't the 90" your rebuilding a 1997 one??
If so.... you'll need to change the engine mounts (amoung other things).. and if you ever sell it, won't be worth much with a 2.5NA (and a LT77 Box)

basically the 90 is a 1997 but all it consists off is a chassis, rear tub and bulkhead... what have i let my self in for!!! engine mounts sound difficult! i may end up selling this engine and putting a better one in like a refurb or something. If i complete the project, i will end up keeping it for life! so that then V8moneypit can show me the real meaning of offroad!!

I'd personnally.....
Break the 110 for spares and get your money back (and probably more)... and get yourself a complete 300Tdi setup - including all the ancilleries, the gearbox etc etc.... all just bolt on then (as your chassis would have had a 300Tdi as standard)
May work out a bit more expensive.... but saves you a lot of hassle.
Also means your 90 will be a standard vehcile and will be easier (thus cheaper) to insure. Also means it's worth more if you ever sold it.
I've got a good contact if you go down the 300Tdi route!!
I'd keep the front axle off your 110 and fit that (if in good condtion - though I would be tempted to find a newer one!!)... then just find a good Range Rover, Discovery (series 1) or 90 rear axle!!
Bolt in the 300 tdi running gear, and jobs a good'un!!!!
