in the middle of doing the clutch on my discovery the clutch fell to bits when i took it off having been told it was the gearbox, doen't look like,so im going to put it back together, have noticed when cleaning the shaft the thrust bearing sits on has got some movement in it is this ok

The bit the bearing slides along is cheap to replace, well about £20 from main stealer!
-
The input shaft to the gearbox does have a little play in it though, the clutch pilot bearing takes care of this.

cheers for that now up and running yipeee
