I didn't realise it sat that deep Tony. :?
It'll make a massive difference on Stannage Edge.

Did you wreck it taking it off, or is it still in one piece (& straight?)
If it's in good condition, please let me know.
(plus the 'saddle')
-
sorry Rchard it din't come quietly in the end i was going to get it off and turn it the right way
but no chance now
Sorry

The D&B adjustable hitch on the back of Shed, isn't as mighty as that! That's enormous!!!
As I have a tank guard coming for Shed, I'm going to put the D&B onto the Disco to replace the std plough that's currently fitted. It's quite inconspicuous with the slider removed.

Richard (BTM)
Are you looking for a Dixon Bate towbar then? I might have one for sale in a few weeks, I'm hoping to get a quick release replacement soon.
-
What have you done with the 2 halves of the DB hitch? I might be interested in them if they are available, or even just the outer sliding part.
-
Matthew
Here are the bits i have you are welcome to what ever you want

Hi Frank (long time no hear), yes I'm after the (complete)adjustable set-up- keep me in mind :D
-
Richard,
Mine is the fixed OE version, no sliding bits on it, just holes at different heights for the towball.

I want to mount it "in reverse" on a series vehicle so it looks like it is still usable :) Can I have it please? Do you want anything for it?
-
Nope free gratis to a MC member
its yours how do you want to do it
-
I'm at Swinderby between Newark and Lincoln next weekend anyway so could possibly collect it Fri or Sat. email me matthew@oldlandrovers.co.uk and we'll see what we can sort out.
-
Thanks, but no thanks then Frank.
-
BTM. Are you after the same type that Tony has just hacked off?
-
BTM if so try ebay.
Some on there cheaper than Towsure prices. I may ave to invest in one myself :?:

Andy, Karloss.
Yes that's the type I want.
I've looked at the models on E-Bay at a local trailer dealer, but it means bolting it onto the existing drop-plate & it (quite frankly) looks a b*gger like that.
-
How else would you attach one then :?:
Thought they all fitted to the existing plate from the tow bar :?:
-
No the Dixon-Bate (& OE LR) fit in place of the drop-plate you, Frank, me, etc... have.
It picks up onto te cross-member mount that you had problems with & the side arms lead to the chassis pick-up points
-
Theres one on the floor in my garage if you want it.

Theres one on the floor in my garage if you want it.
Yes, please :D
But can I have a look first?
I'll either arrange to come down, or (with your approval) ask our friends who live on Park Road to pick it up, as they both work at Pinderfields as well
-
I'll post you a picture or two tommorrow. Unless you prefer to see it in the flesh?
-
Decided to do it tonight so's not to forget. (which I'm rather good at)
-
.jn kljn
-
That's the thing itself.
Next questions;
How much?
When? (it's my weekend off; Sat-Tues)
-
To you Richard, free gratis. This weekend will be fine. I should be around most of the time(apart from Sat AM) doing some remedial jobs on T'old lass. I'll PM the phone no' just phone before you set off to make sure I'm in.
-
Thankyou Karloss, I appreciate that gesture very much.
I've got the PM & thus the telephone number.
I will contact you for a possible Saturday afternon pick-up (circa 13:30 - 14:00) as the lit'lun & SWMBO go to bed for an hours sleep
-
If you've got some nuts and bolts I'll even fire it on for you.
-
Thanks Karloss for the adjustable & the conversation.
It's not fitted yet, as I'll get father-in-law to take it to work & get one of the Apprentices to shot-blast it & spray it 'Chassis Black'
Need to drill another pair of holes through the drop-plate to mount it. I think I'll need to take it off first & then I'll get one of our fitters in the Works Yard to drill it with their 'little' pillar drill.
You ought to see the 'big' one, it had bored a 20mm hole in a 9mm thick 'Jack-Mate' by the time I'd sneezed twice!!
Hope the house sells soon, the (new) house near Inverness sounds superb
