Title: Radio Fitting
Post by: Elmo on April 14, 2006, 06:40:59
Just bought a new stereo for Elmo, never thought to check the depth of the void  :(

I would like to keep the stereo as it has MP3 capability and built-in Blootooth for my mobile, but I need a "collar" about 3/4" to 1" deep to sit between the radio fascia and the surface of the console.

Does anyone know where I could source such a thing? Material not crucial I can always paint it.

Failing that any clever peeps out there could make me one as I am terminally ham-fisted? Appropriate exchange of beer tokens obviously ;)

BIG HAMMER!!!, have you pushed all the wiring back as the connections take up a lot of space, failing that as Gtomo says halfords.

I have this problem on mine too. I have made a 1/2 inch mdf one. If you pp along to your locl wood shop, they should be able to make you one from a scrap peice. Dont forget to take the stereo cage with you for the sizes.

Also, dont make it too high, as it will obstruct you heater controls. :)
