got rid of my catalytic convertor and fitted a straight thru exhaust pipe front section.
what a difference it has made....it pulls like a train from low revs now. just gotta get rid of the EGR now.
fingers crossed for MOT time , otherwise the old pipe has to go back on.

its not a cat & 300's came as standard without it,building a 300 tdi 90 just now & it had egr but no "cat" just straight front pipe

Mikey , are you really sure about this?
..I thought that all 300tdis from a certain year had them fitted.
It certainley looks like one to me

ok maybe i used that as a bit 2 much of a general term,300's to start off with came with nowt, straight dection of pipe & away you go,as the years progressed different specs had them & around 96 onwards it had all the crap stuck to it to make it cleaner,
to make it go better buy an early front pipe & roberts your mothers brother
as jimwillly said its a particle collecter so after a while it will become clogged with soot thus choking the engine
