Hi all,
Was fiddling about under the nearside fascia trying to get my bonnet catch  to release when I spotted a small rubber hose lying about. I traced it back to here:(http://members.mud-club.com/galleryimages/4b60240007c0a7bd3d3d7c72f055628c.JPG)
[Thanks to denviks for photo]
so appears to be part of the braking system. I'm worried now that this hose should be plugged into something.. In the thread about that joint splitting, hobbit said it goes to the heater? I've been under the dash but can't see anything that looks like it would accept the hose and a look through my Land Rover CDs doesn't shed any light, anyone know where it goes?
P.S. it's a 200tdi :)

I am sure someone will reply shortly but if they dont I will have a go at tracing mine in daylight tomorrow.
Cheers,
Mike

Loking at it that looks lik the hose for the vacumn to the servo. There is a vacumn pump on the head and the pipe goes to the servo. I really can't remember where the Tee goes off to but as it's the small line it will mean a reduced assistance rather than no assistance.

It normally attaches somewhere inside the dash, I believe the heater unit

if im correct it will attach to the side of the heater box. if you take the kick pannel out of the passenger side and then remove the glove box and look at the side of the heater you will see a place for it there. it is connected to the mecanisim to open and shut the heater flap. ie closes it off to the outside world. hope that helps

Thanks all, I'll get under there after work and have a look 8) Might explain why it takes superhuman strength to open and close the fresh air lever when I'm doing more than 10mph :?

that hose is part of the brake vacume unit
remove it and try the brakes not moving and then reattach then try the brakes.
mine happened at work and i was lucky a BT mechanioc help figure it out.
