I've only just found out about this in the new issue of 'Old Glory'.
And not before time
I wonder if the Council will now pay for the planned statue of Fred?

The plaque’s inscription reads:
‘Home of the late Dr Fred Dibnah MBE steeplejack.
Honorary doctorate, Aberdeen and Birmingham Universities, artist, draughtsman, carpenter, stone mason, demolition expert, intuitive engineer, steam enthusiast, devotee of our industrial heritage, raconteur and television celebrity.
Revered son of Bolton 1938-2004.’

If you didn't know the man, at least by reputation, that struggles to do him justice. I wonder if there will be a preservation order on his garden

Has it really been 2 years since he passed away????

There was a plan (not too sure if it still exists?) to turn his garden into an Industrial Heritage site
Do we have any Bolton based 'Mudders' who can find out??
