are the 'handed' as in is there a left and a right one?????
I have just fitted mine with just one bolt to go and I noticed that the "QT 3" cut into both reads inside out on both unless you look from underneath when they read correct. This means I have put them on the wrong side (hope all this makes sense).
Question is ...... Is this just cosmetic or have I screwed up?????
BTW they are the castor corrected radius arms
-
from the articly in LRM from last month or this month its just cosmetic, but he turned them round as a mark of respect to the fella at QT.

Thank god for that
I like the guys from QT but not enough to spend the time swopping them over again  :P

Bob, Let me know how it drives after you have finished. I am thinking about some for my 110 when I do the lift.

Paul, i have QT 3 degree arms on my motor with a 2" lift and i honestly can't tell the differance in handling from standard arms. I only use them because they are cranked, which helps the bushes. My advise would be to run your motor for a while when you have lifted it and see how it feels.
-
I fitted them over a year ago, and could feel the difference straight away. No tramlining etc. However if you feel the expense to be a little steep immediately, do a full bush change and see if you feel a difference. If no change do the arms with new arms. trust me they are worth it.
Oh and no, they are not sided, the "logo" is a vanity touch.
Oh and if you are doing bushes get a good set.
Having just gone legal again with a poly set (1st i've had) and castor correction, this is the most stable the vehicle has been

if the writing is wrong on boths sides, you have got them wrong way round.
if it reads right on one side and wrong on another then they are not handed.
-
erm explain to me how a radius arm of any origin could be handed?

erm explain to me how a radius arm of any origin could be handed?
in this instance its only a case of the lettering, not anything mechanical.
but, for someone who isnt 'in the know' about these things, to assume they are handed is completely plausable.

understood - i own up to a pre-fitting session of "dry-fitting" to get the aesthetics right
;)

i just put things on in a hurry (because iam impatiant)
then discover ive done it wrong, swear alot, and then do the job properly.
my advise to anyone is, even if its an arse to rectify, do the job properly and then you can sleep better at night.
-
They fit so cant be arsed to swop em over just so the writing isnt back to front. Wont see it when they are covered in waxoyl and mud :P
I put a set of deflex bushes on the radius arms as they went in (and brand new bolts etc). Thats the shocks and radius arms with new bushes. Will take it out for a spin in a bit (probably to the chippy).

I had a +2 inch lift on my RRC, without them. So I will try.

It depends on who you are trying to impress, if it's for the benifit of the MOT tester then leave them as they are :D
If you don't notice any difference when fitting them there is something wrong :o but it doesn't follow that a 2" lift needs them, Tim M and Loyalduke both have a lift without the arms and their cars drive fine, on the other hand RRR is lifted 1" and if light as hell and a bit of an aquired taste to drive :?
It's a question of tolerance, I think for a Disco/RRC it's between 1 and 3 degrees positive castor, and a 2" lift steals 3degrees, so depending how much you had to start with determines how bad it will feel with a lift, the self-centring relies on more than just castor, so some cars feel ok left alone, others don't. You may also find that a well-used steering system is less likely to feel bad after a lift than a newish one, to put it another way when I bough a new steering box the steering got a whole lot worse, 'till I fitted QT arms.
As a final shot, my front tyres last a whole lot longer now too.
