Hi guys,
Fitting the new suspension today, and have noticed that the springs, for the rear anyway are coiled a lot tighter at one end than the other, they are the britpart yellow ones
Any ideas?

The majority I've seen have the tightest coils to the bottom and this will give the most downwards pressure.

Im sure the tight coils go to the top.

I stand corrected, I thought I'd fitted mine the wrong way up after following a couple of lifted LR's but didn't worry as I had no handling issues :oops: but on checking I've fitted mine the right way :wink:

tight coils to the top, otherwise its a bitch to do up the retaining bars :lol:

.....and all the mud fills up the tighter coils if they're in the bottom!! :wink:

Thanks guys, sorted now. The Disco is slowly getting sorted, this week its having new suspension and and rear cones, new rear discs and pads, new rear wheel bearings, can you believe that both rear brakes were siezed solid!!! When she gets back on the road I will have to be careful with the middle pedal, funny thing is that I have never had a problem stopping her.
Will find out tomorrow what condition the fronts are in...fingers crossed!!

Glad to see it's coming along mate. When you get the rear brakes fixed you'll find the pedal effort about the same TBH but there will be more travel.

We need a whole calliper one side and the pistons need replacing on the other side!
I'm hoping the fronts will be ok, something was stopping her :shock:
