Post by: Blu on April 23, 2006, 13:17:48
Is it possible to repair the heating elements in a rear screen?

I have a 2" gap between what works and demist/defrost and it is right in my sight line, what do I need to do to remedy this?

yes you can if its just the track across the screen thats gone you can get metel paint or electro paint from the likes of maplin/rs componats etc. you just mask off the bit of the window you dont wont to paint and with a small pint brush just paint it over the brack in the window jod done. in fact i have some in my tool box

if its only one track thats broke it may be cheaper for you to borrow my paint as iirc its a bit expensive to buy and only comes in very small bottles.

Unless it's obvious you need a voltmeter (or test lamp) to find the break. Start at the ends and you will have 12v, work in if you go to zero you have crossed the break, go back a bit and narrow it down as tight as possible.
