I was quite disappointed with their performance in the mud to be honest, They do work well on rocks (not really surprising)

Also, you need to make sure they carry 'E' marks... there was talk about BFG not bothering to E-mark them due to the new European noise legislation and the (relatively) small market... if they don't, then you won't be able to run them on the road.

i have the krawler tyres fitted on my wrangler for close to a year now...you have a choice of compound blue, red or yellow....in the mud performance is like pro comp x-terrain (or slightly better) on the rocks.....so far so good and noise level well i use these as my every day tyre so i would say quiet (i have boggers for the mud)
and those axle are portal-tec i have rockcrusher high pinion d60

gonna have to disagree slightly,

at the MT's nick with the white & tango disco was running then & in MHO they were clearing quicker than the simex's,they also have the advantage of being chunky but not in yer face chunky, notice neil is running them on his ibex aswell

the side lugs have quite a spacing between them for mud.

would love to give em a try

now I wonder if they are quieter than my Simex ETs????

I read that to. said they thought it was so specialist that people would only want them for comp vehicles and so road legality wouldn't be neccesary or something like that.

In reply to colintandy

Theres a rockcrawl comp on the 11th june at frickley 4x4 near doncaster

Theres 2 posts in the events list, Ill bump em back to the top.

Its the first of its kind as far as I know, with 8 entrants so far.

The rock crawl is pretty long, uphill, tough, and damaging.

Well worth a look, and compete if you fancy something different.

Rather than bumping, it's probably a better idea to give links to the threads. After all, if all event organisers decided they wanted their event at the top of the list we will just end up with dozens of bumps and no thread will actually manage to change position

The threads are http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=22252 and http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?p=221016#221016

Cheers

It's not... as I mentioned right at the start of the thread, they won't be 'E' marked ;-)

Jas, you are right, it doesn't seem to stop some tyre suppliers...  hopefully they will get into some trouble for it one of these days.
