Hi All. I'm trying to get hold of a 410 transfer box for the 413. Does any one know if it'll bolt straight in or will there be some faffing involved?
-
you might have to change the flanges over.
but i think thats all.

As of tomorrow nighht I should have just the kiddy for sale! picking up my new toy and one thats been rolled and robbed too as part of the deal.... pm me if you'd like it,
-
Should just be a dead straight swap as everything is identical as far as mounting lengths and bolts line up.
If your 413 case has a prop handbrake and (for some weird reason) the 410 doesn't just crack the big nut off the end and swap the prop brake around too - dead easy job.
While your doing this swap the rubber mounts out as they really are wimpy little things - Land Rover ones are cheap and plentiful yet stronger.
you may also want to check the mountings arms for kinks whilst you have them out and try bracing them as they are not much firmer than a rubbery thing that rubbery in the sun.

I was hoping it would be a straight swap.
About the mounts, have seen these on eBay, anyone know if they are ant good?

I have found a transfer box but it comes with an SJ, does any body want any parts? Haven't seen it yet, I'm going to look at it over the weekend.

Hovis,
Be careful, as early 410 t-cases will not fit (not without major work anyway), and the flanges are not interchangable.
Im no expert on t-cases but i think its the ones with solid props that are the odd ball.
You should not need to swap the flanges over, they should be a straight swap with your 413 case, im sure its only some sammys that had different flanges.

Just one tip....After fitting make sure you can still select hi/low/4x4 OK
I found that the transfer case gear levers are all bent slightly differently, and some of them would not allow the full range of movement before hitting the hole thru the tranny tunnel.
Ive got 7 tranny case levers here and they are all slightly different.

Yep, you will need to swap the lever over from your old box to make sure you get full movement.
