Title: Steering uj question.
Post by: Sharpshooter on May 10, 2006, 19:30:47
I have a J reg 1992 Disco 1. The uj in the pic has some wear.

Question is, do i have to change the whole shaft up to the next uj? Can just the uj be replaced? And does anyone know the part number either Land Rover or Paddocks?

Thaks Wayne.

Hi

No just the Uj. Very quick and easy. Take the two bolts out and slide the uj up away from the P.A.S. box. Then slide off. Pop the new one on and job done. 30 mins easy.

Make sure the wheels are straight when you park up to do it. Get someone to hold the steering wheel when you remove and fit new.

Paddocks are inexpensive

Thats what i thought. The uj at the top is fine, but this one has slight wear. Not enough to worry about, but when the engine isnt running you notice it. When the engines running, its very head to notice. I just like to keep steering and brakes under control. (No pun intended).

I take it then, it is the £50 one from paddocks  roll:
