has anybody made and fitted there own rock sliders, as i can get 3"x2" box section from work for nowt but i was wondering how to mount them?
do i weld to bodywork or is there a way of bolting through the floor like side steps etc?

Cant help there.....unless your fitting them to a 90. Sorry :oops:

mine has box section sliders on they are bolted to the chassis the last owner fitted these me been a bit rough with it they have moved uptowards the sills but luckly he also box sectioned the sills so no major damage done :lol:

i dont have rock rock sliders, but i have side sill protecters :D and they bolt through the brackets that the leaf srings mount too hope that helps :)

make up some brackets that weld or bolt to the chassis rails.
you can also brace them back to the body mounts as well for extra strength.

I made my own rocksliders for catflap. The main body is 100 x 50 x 4mm steel. The front bracket is made from 5mm steel and the bulkhead bolt passes through this bracket at the front. I made a bracket at the rear out of 3mm steel that utilises the fuel tank outrigger bolts to support it.

thanks for the reply lads them pics should help les i'll get some box sextion from work and start constructing some.
going to utilise the tow bar mount to make a fuel tank guard out of 3mm steel plate at the same time :)

Just a thought, the Vits have a tank guard as standard. Lookign at mine its reasonably heafty too.
