Title: gearbox leak
Post by: J B on May 21, 2006, 18:37:38
it seems my r380 has sprung a severe leak, it coming from between the main case and the extention case at the rear of the gearbox ( not the join with the transfer box )

any bright ideas, or is it a new box job

found the leak, its coming from the selector plate, that has cracked under the transfer box lever, causing the oil to get through the gap

Well I was going to say use chemical metal or some of the chemical weld stuff if you can clean it up enough but I notice the crack goes a mighty long way across so I guess it's not such a good idea.

Any idea how it happened?
